How was student life at Carleton 100 years ago? Our group set out to learn about Carleton life before 1916. Here is our final project on student life at Carleton. It has certainly changed in the last 100 years. We used the arcgis journal template to add photos, information, and audio to describe student life at Carleton.
Be careful with the audio, it autoplays.
Here is the project: Map
Your group tackled the important project of making oral histories of Carleton alums more accessible via your Map Tour, and you found some interesting stories in their interviews about life in the early days at Carleton. Some of the small anecdotes are great and the few images you found add a visual element, but overall the project seems unfinished. The audio clips only accompany a small number of entries, and they autoplay in a distracting manner. The map intergration is also unfinished, since the map does slide a few times but it is not clear what it is centering on or why. The project also needed more of an introduciton and a bibliography of the sources you used, either within the story map or on a companion website. If taken to completion, this would be a great project, but it remains unfinished.
