Project created by Kevin Grow, Carrie Hanson, and Colin Pi
Our project examines nine buildings at Carleton – existing and not – and the way they contributed to Carleton’s goals to becoming an elite school. The various aspects we look at are the improvement of academics, the establishment of a sports program, and the expansion of residential life. We created 3D models of the demolished buildings, and used already created models of the buildings that still exist on campus. We then inserted images of these models into a map using ArcGIS Web Mapping Application. The models are also in a 3D representation on ArcScene desktop viewer, so that the time lapse can be seen. Furthermore, we wanted to give a feel for each of the buildings’ uses, and have images of the interior and activities from all of the buildings in our ArcGIS story map.
